The National Literacy Trust are bringing BookBench sculptures to Stoke-on-Trent in spring 2019 to celebrate the city’s love of reading.
The BookBenches will be decorated by schools and community groups across the city with designs inspired by books and reading. Once the benches are completed, they will be installed at cultural and leisure venues across the city as part of a BookBench trail.
Schools will need to buy a BookBench to take part in the project, which most will achieve through fundraising. They money raised will be matched by local businesses, which will fund the logistics and management of the project.
