Stoke Minster Primary Academy achieve Communication Friendly Setting Award

Congratulations to the Early Years Foundation Stage at Stoke Minster Primary Academy on achieving Stoke Speaks Out's Level 4 'Communication Friendly Setting' status!

The accreditation is awarded to settings and schools who can demonstrate high standards in supporting children’s attachment and communication development.

The Early Years team worked hard gathering evidence towards the award while continuing to implement best practice during what has been a challenging year. Then at the end of the summer term, moderator from Stoke Speaks Out visited Nursery and Reception to see their best practice in action.

Charlotte Barber, the nursery teacher who led the team effort, said "Here at Stoke Minster Primary School we strive to help all children SPARKLE. As an EYFS unit we have always championed communication for all of our children and ensured it is at the heart of all that we do. For this reason gaining the Level 4 award has been a real achievement and for us to get recognition for our work is fantastic. Every member of our team works every day to make sure every child has positive and meaningful interactions in their day. Huge thanks to Stoke Speaks Out for all of their support and we cannot wait to build upon this success"

Well done to them all for their hard work and for continuing to champion children’s speech, language and communication development in our local schools.
